Packing, Moving, and Storage

Evaluation: Following water, storm or fire damage to a property, Restoration Specialists is ready to respond. After a catastrophe, one of the first things Restoration Specialists may recommend is removing all content items from the property. This process is called a “pack-out”, and if done immediately following the loss, additional damage and claim costs will be minimized.

Photo Inventory & Documentation: As part of the Restoration Specialists pack-out process, photos of all related contents in the property are taken, to carefully document the existing condition and location of each of the items. In addition to photo inventory, written documentation will reflect the placement and location from which the affected contents will be removed. All contents will be packed in boxes, and furniture items will be numbered and labeled. Careful attention will be given to all furniture and antiques. Our pack-out estimator will help evaluate the conditions in the affected areas, and determine which items need immediate attention, and which items are not salvageable. Any items affected by moisture or otherwise needing special attention will be noted and placed in a “rush” system to eliminate further damage.

Cost Estimate/Scope: Our pack-out estimator will create a detailed estimate based on the scope within 48 hours following our services to clean and restore all salvageable contents items.

Pack-Out & Storage:  All pack-out items are removed from the property by Restoration Specialists employees and placed in special dedicated storage vaults at our warehouse facility. Great care is taken in handling and packing these items to eliminate breakage or loss. Upon arrival at the Restoration Specialists facility, the contents will be unpacked, cleaned, deodorized, repacked in clean boxes, and stored in vaults until returned to the appropriate job site location. For our customers' benefit, the Restoration Specialists warehouse is fully insured.

Cleaning & “Move Back”:  Restoration Specialists will restore contents and deliver and unpack items at the property following the completion of restoration work, or upon approval from the property manager, adjuster, property owner or facilities manager. Final documentation will be provided to ensure all contents have been cleaned, accounted for and returned.

Time: Time is of the essence to prevent further damage to property and contents following a loss from fire, water, smoke or storms. That is why we are on call 24/7/365 to begin the pack-out process!
